Review *Can You See the Stars Tonight?

by Anna Terreros-Martin

Published by David Fickling Books

With SO MANY books in the universe, it's easy to miss some. Here's one for your summer reading list that you mustn't miss!

With such a great earth-friendly message, brilliant story & gorgeous illustrations, this is definitely one of my favourite picture books!

We often hear how we need to be more mindful about our energy use & how we can help or protect the planet. We know the usual bad habits & problems but not many people think of light pollution.

If you live in a city, maybe London, it might be very rare to see stars in the sky. There are just too many buildings that use electric lights all the time - even overnight.

You only need to travel a short distance to see a big difference. Find streets without lights or businesses & the natural night sky darkness lets the stars breathe & shine.

Nora loves to look out at the stars ✨🌟💫 from her bedroom but they're not as bright as they look in her book.

Imagine a baby puffin, a *puffling* flying into your room! Well, Nora has to figure out why that happened & what she can do about it.

With the help of her Dad & Papa, Nora learns about light pollution & asks her friends at school to help too.

Everyone can make small changes that make a big difference.

Check out Anna's website for some activity & colouring sheets here Activities — Anna Terreros-Martin (annaterrerosmartin.co.uk) 💡😎🖍️🎨 Anna also has an Etsy shop with lovely wooden Puffin (& raccoon) pin badges.

It's great to see a picture book given space in the Bookseller.

I wish books for youngsters were given more space in many other publications!

Make sure you add this one to your pre-order shopping list. It's truly a wonderful story & beautifully produced by David Fickling Books.

You'll love it.

💡📚😎✨🌟💫
