Symona is ready - ready for a new chapter in her life & that pesky biological clock is most definitely ticking.
She's single & SO tired of people telling her WHY she is still single!
Symona is *bored with holidays with the girls & tired of coming home to an empty flat & cold bed*.
So many things in Symona's life are relatable & I believe there's always a little bit of the author woven into their books. It could be a tiny crumb or a huge chunk of them & I'm wondering which is the case here.
Singles Summit - brunch with her single girls to talk about single status! Symona & her girls spring into action when a summit is called by any one of them. There's great food involved & each brings their own contribution - & it seems to be their chance to wear their dressy gear, no sloppy jeans or tops in sight!
Cold mornings & supermarket shopping on a sunday are things Symona doesn't think should EVER go together but it has to be done. You never know who you might meet!
Symona is a strong-minded woman & is determined to find Mr Right. It's her mission & she feels more qualified to succeed after learning what she doesn't want, from past experiences.
We follow this ambitious woman through her various dating ventures, pleasant & unpleasant. This included the bad surprise of one guy posting photos of Symona on instagram (even though he did avoid showing her face) & horrified, she doesn't just confront him but follows up with reporting it & legal channels.
What's up with all the men - every one of them seems to have some issue & Symona's not about to settle for anything less than 'just right'. Will an age gap be an issue or is it invisible if the character can shine brightly & charm her?
This book was longer than I'd expect. Having said that it was a trip into circles I am not used to so it was interesting for that reason. I could also live without the sprinkling of swearing & mentions of sexual stuff but they were Symona's world so that's cool!
The characters were all very specific & I enjoyed some of the personality details. I liked their differences, interactions & cared about them.
Cheering for Symona!
