Art. What is Art? What happens when it disappears?
Welcome to the next step into a mysterious, entrancing universe.
This time, C. D. Rose has trained his sights on the art world in all its glamour, perversity & ambition.

As with all things that can be seen or presented as 'ART' this book is defintintely unique in its form.
With an opening, unpublished article on conceptual artist Sigismunda Conrad to set the tone, we then get the perspective of 12 people involved. Expect the unexpected, but there are links.
Though 'blathering verbiage in art books...' gets a mention, these individual accounts do not fall into that category.

Each with its own geographical or physical environment, we're taken to remote Scottish islands & learn 'there's nothing there, but you could spend a lifetime discovering it..' Readers experience the difficulties of a cargo ship in dangerous waters + many other scenarios - with threads reaching to connect them together later.

There's no way of telling what is real or otherwise, sometimes.
Art & crime might be two of the avenues most visited by that element of doubt.
Even an 'artist' might just be a name without actual flesh & a heartbeat.
Do people crave the mystique or live in a bubble of fear, avoiding society?

This is a very creative way to deliver a story & though it might initially feel unusual to read through, it evolves into a very interesting experience.

Thank you to Nikki Griffiths & Melville House for having me on this tour.

I loved the Nikki Griffiths instagram image of several book covers.
