As soon as I saw this proof cover I knew there was a fun adventure waiting inside!
You'll be smiling right from the start as Tasha Harrison's writing style invites readers right into the story.
Seeing the characters introduced, visually & by name, is a huge bonus - more stories should do this! It's a great feature. It's fun but also could be so useful for any readers who might struggle to keep track of story threads & the characters involved.
With surprising friendships, a pet parrot, Viv & punky character, Lyn blended with poetry & funny phrases there's a smile around every page corner in this one.
Illustrations by Ava Mitchell really add some extra zing to these already punchy characters. They come alive & jump from the pages to share their turbo-charged, word-tastic adventures with us.
This would be an enjoyable read for all ages, not just children. It would definitely be the perfect remedy for anyone's reading slump.
Clementine might seem a bit young to have an arch-nemesis but that's the perfect description for Callum. They have *history*, especially since Callum beat Clem' in the poetry contest.
It's going to be tricky but they have to join forces to see how they can stop the plans of Clementine's mum & Callum's dad!
With ingredients like friendship, tension, humour, intrigue & suspense, this story really is a successful recipe to be loved by everyone.
Check out Tasha Harrison's next book - this time a YA romantic comedy!
*The Thing About Lemons* will be published by the talented team at UCLan in June 2023.
